He nodded, giving a sigh of relief. He didn't do awkward situations well, so he relaxed. Besides awkward, it would also seem a bit creepy..... And he wasn't that kind of guy. He leaned back patiently on the wall, waiting for the dryer to ding. Before too long though, the dryer's cycle finished, and he began unloading the clothes, folding them with quick precision, almost too precise. But the man was looking forward to getting out, so he could enjoy the air and hunt.

Lien hopped off her spot and went to the drier to help him pull the things out, enjoying the calm silence as they did the folding and she helped stack them all up nicely. Once it was complete she turned to him. "Alright so... we can go now?" she bounced a little on her toes, excited to be done with detention for the day. Just a few more days of this and she surely wasn't going to be getting into trouble any time soon.

Folding the towels didn't take long, and soon they were finished. Kveld nodded and smiled to her question, opening the door and leading her out of the building, in the direction of the faculty parking lot. It was a ways of a walk, and finally they reached his truck, an older model Ford ranger with an extended cab, little pockets of rust in an otherwise well kept car. He pulled out his keys and unlocked the driver's side, before reaching over, unlocking and opening the passenger side. "Hop in", he invited, before turning the engine over. The truck kicked on smoothly, the engine rumbling softly under the hood as the stereo flipped on and played some soft bluegrass.

It seemed he really wasn't much of a talker but Lien really didn't mind as she followed him through the school and to the old truck. She didn't really care about cars so she had no idea the model or the extended cab part. She just hopped into it and closed the door tightly behind herself before grabbing the seat belt and made sure she was secured in. "So... not to be noisy but what are your plans for the rest of the day? I was never sure what else teachers do besides go to their classes and maybe... eat and sleep." she smirked a bit, trying to make polite conversation at least now.

He put the car in reverse before leaving on the main road towards the forest. He glanced to her when she questioned him, mainly keeping his eyes on the road. "Hunting. I'm running low on supplies at home, and I'm not fond of beef or chicken." He said, following the curve of the road. He ran over a bump and something in the backseat rattled and bumped- a bow and a quiver full of arrows. The air outside became cooler, so he rolled the windows down, enjoying the fresh breeze on his face.

She grabbed to the side of the car and glanced to him, blinking a bit and then smirked a bit. "Hunting... I only eat meat but I've never been a good bow hunter. My gift is floral, so eating vegetables seemed more like cannibalism to me. I used snares when I did have to hunt so it was all small game." she had something in common with the man, but now with the cafeteria she no longer needed to hunt anymore. She enjoyed the cafeteria food, Aurelian paid well for the chefs and quality of meats they had. "What do you usually hunt?"
Post by Kveldulf Argenlet on Nov 17, 2014 20:43:23 GMT -8
"I learned to use the bow a few decades ago, and I prefer it to a rifle any day. Rifles make it far too easy to slaughter anything. But a bow? Evens the odds for the animal, plus it isn't as loud and doesn't stink as bad as gunpowder." He explained. He turned down a road, the blacktop disappearing as the road turned to dirt, and trees came up on both sides. He listened, his eyebrows raised a moment, before smiling. "Snares, huh? DO you ever miss it?" He asked, before answering. "A buddy of mine is a game warden up here, so I hunt whatever happens to be the most troublesome or too populous. Boar, deer, elk, beaver...... I only take what I need, and try to help the species. But sometimes I get called in for other things.... Bear kills a farmer's cow, or a cougar takes a toddler from the trail, I have to go track them down and take it out." The last part he clearly wasn't too pleased with.

"Decades.." she repeated the word with a little bit of surprise. That meant he had been hunting for a long time. Her head turned to him though, brows knitting together at the last part of what he had said and she took a moment to really register it. "Bears take... toddlers? I had no idea that Shadow City had troubles with them." she pointed out and leaned back against the chair as she thought. "I suppose I should be more careful about when I am out in the forest but.. with powers like mine I really don't worry too much. The plants always make sure I am safe as long as I am aware." she pointed out and smiled at the man. "And I miss it sometimes.. but taking a life when I am well fed isn't really necessary anymore."
Post by Kveldulf Argenlet on Nov 19, 2014 17:17:23 GMT -8
He shook his head. "Not the bears. Bears here stay away from humans for the most part, unless they're stupid enough to leave their food or trash out. Worst you can get from a bear is a broken car. No... The mountain lions will sometimes take children, dogs, hell, even adults if they're close enough and alone, and especially when they have cubs to feed and no prey around. You'd think people would think to stick to the trails or travel in groups but.... people don't seem to think these days. And because of that, the animals have to pay for it." He said, somewhat wistfully. He glanced over to her, eventually getting to the end of the road where he put the truck in park. "Keep your wits about you and you won't have to worry about a thing. Just keep an eye out, you hear?" he stopped the engine, and pulled his quiver and longbow from the backseat before getting out, the bow nearly as tall as he was, and elegant in contrast to the stalwart man.

She listened carefully and nodded before hopping out of the truck and slung the bag over her shoulder. She turned to him and drew a deep breath. "Definitely and thanks for the advice.." she watched him pull out the large bow and her eyes flickered over it a bit. He was going to be out hunting... but she was going to be in the trees. She had a lot of energy to get out and a lot of pent up frustrations, but luckily the trees here always lent an ear. "Well thanks for the ride and good luck on the hunt. If you see me... don't shoot." she teased and turned, sprinting off towards the tree line with book bag in hand. With his help she had made it here just in time and she went into the dense woods, touching the trees so she could find her way back to the roads before she hopped up onto a low branch and started to climb the tree. The earthy smell whirled around her and it made her lungs feel clear like she could finally breath easy as she settled into the branches and closed her eyes for a bit of a nap.

He smirked slightly at the comment, giving her a little salute of acknowledgement, two fingers on his forehead that he waved a bit, before turning and shouldering his quiver. He trekked out of sight, beginning his hunt.
The next day came by, and she seemed to keep to her word, keeping out of his class. It was a mere thought in the back of his mind as he started each class, which quickly jumped out of sight and mind when class began. The afternoon seemed to come on rather quickly, and before long he found himself gathering all the towels from the day and carrying them to the washroom. How did so many towels get used in a single day? He shook his head and waited outside the door for Braska to show. Funny enough, he was looking forward to it....

She arrived on time with her dark hair pulled up, a bit of stray hairs hung loose and fell to the right side of her face as she moved into the locker rooms and towards the back part where she had gone before. "Yo!" she called out as she saw him and waved her hand, giving a short sprint to him and smiled. "So what did you catch yesterday?" she was excited to talk to the teacher again, despite this being a punishment she felt giddy to come talk to the older male... something very different for her. But he was a nature soul like her own, she could feel it and something in that put her at ease.

He heard her coming, a bit taken aback when she called him so informally. But when she came towards him, he smiled a bit. "Good afternoon, Braska. Nothing too flashy, just a few ducks. The deer are migrating around, since they've started reintroducing old native predators in the area.. Nothing that you or any of the other students need worry about." He smiled to her. He unlocked the room and opened the door. "Ready for another fun-filled day?" he joked as he walked in. Thankfully with her here, this job went quicker than normal.
Post by Lien Braska on Dec 8, 2014 20:42:56 GMT -8
She gazed up at him and grinned. "But roasted duck done just right... gods I bet that made for a delicious dinner." she slipped her messenger bag off as they entered laundry room, setting it down onto the table and turned to face the laundry. "I think you mean... another stink filled day, Argenlet." she laughed and went over to start opening up the laundry doors. "You know this punishment wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't the smell. Like you do a few simple things, wait a bit, do a few more simple things, and repeat. Easy. I guess folding is kind of... repetitive but if you had like a small tv in here then this chore would be much easier." she started to throw the towels into the washer, scrunching her face a bit as she tried not to smell the things as she placed them in.

He smiled and gave a hearty laugh. "A girl after my own heart. I like you Braska." He let her in and they started their work, tossing towels into the machine, before letting her take care of the detergent. "Hmmm... I can see that, though I honestly don't care much for it. 1, TVS cost money, both to buy and to have installed in here, and Kinzoku probably could care less. 2, it can make you stay here later than you want to. 3, it realm does rot your brain. Not automatic necrotic symptoms, but it kills cells." He explained, sitting back a bit. "Besides, that's what books are for." He grinned.
Aurelian Kinzoku: Yes I would rather not want to buy more computers because of one little slip up..
Nov 29, 2014 17:51:30 GMT -8
Aiden Darkstrife: What about a screw cap or a water bottle?

Deleted: Some sealable containers are trustworthy.
Nov 30, 2014 21:14:03 GMT -8
Deleted: Hmmm... No hot cocoa near the computers? Sounds like a rule to break.
Dec 3, 2014 20:42:43 GMT -8
Lenny Robertson: I will tell you now, please do not ruin the computers or else you will be paying for a whole new one. We could make you help the janitorial staff for a while until we see the debt is paid. But that is totally up to you.
Dec 4, 2014 16:19:25 GMT -8
Deleted: Sorry Mr. R, but you know me
Dec 4, 2014 16:25:49 GMT -8
Silver Kinzoku: And we all know that Principla Kinzoku would be more than happy to put you on janitorial service to work off paying for a computer broken. Or torturing you during detention for breaking said rule.
Dec 9, 2014 20:04:39 GMT -8
Ichabod: I have told Aurelian that if any of his students gets out of hand to send them my way. I have a large graveyard to take care of and only two hands to do it.
Dec 9, 2014 20:33:52 GMT -8
Canary La Muerte: it's too dang cold to be doing volunteer work for the city. I think i'll just wake up a little earlier and enjoy cocoa in the cafeteria.
Dec 11, 2014 17:18:59 GMT -8
Ichabod: But we have coffee and cocoa at the work cabin. It will be fun.
Dec 11, 2014 20:27:38 GMT -8
Kveldulf Argenlet: If graveyard work is insufficient, the park ranger of the Kumorai Forest informed me he needs volunteers to help remove invasive plants and dig fire ditches.
Dec 12, 2014 11:00:31 GMT -8
Lien Braska: He gave me towel duty once... i think the students get the idea. No monkey business.
Dec 14, 2014 11:25:43 GMT -8
Kveldulf Argenlet: There is an overwhelming amount of towels from the PE department that need washing, and frankly I'm rather tired of cleaning after your messes.
Dec 14, 2014 13:16:32 GMT -8
Ichabod: Isn't that part of the job description?
Dec 14, 2014 21:07:20 GMT -8
Silver Kinzoku: doesn't matter if it is... it can easily be pushed off onto a detention student. *smirk*
Dec 15, 2014 12:38:08 GMT -8
Zariah Marie Weaver: Ew... I wouldn't get caught dead washing those disgusting towels.
Dec 17, 2014 20:32:45 GMT -8
Renee Nakamura: Oh, do not worry. The nurses office has plenty of gloves and sanitary gels for the clean up. -Snickers-
Dec 19, 2014 20:11:38 GMT -8
Zariah Marie Weaver: I'm good. I'd rather just be smart and not get into trouble
Dec 28, 2014 16:58:38 GMT -8
Silver Kinzoku: Good to hear! Then things will run smooth.
