A Midnight Dip (Open)

[Aiden Darkstrife]

He laughed, pulled out a card, signed his receipt and stepped back. He shrugged and smiled at the older boy, "Yeah, I kind of fell into a lot of money a while ago and the least I could do it help someone who helped me out. And every time I was about to get mugged, I always jumped away and I was out of trouble."

He confessed. "I am not the bravest kid in the world and my only way out of a situation is my teleporting." Aiden sighed and noticed the food had arrived, he picked it up and moved over to sit down at one of the tables in the back area so he would be able to see the night sky.

He'd nod as he followed Aiden, carrying his own food so that he didn't put too much strain on the guy. "hey, better than my abilities." he chuckled and formed a patch of ice around his right index finger "I can freeze things and shift water...I'm sure people think I'm some weirdo with how often I have my room set to like...thirty degrees."

With that, he sat and looked up at the waning moon. "So...how'd you end up in the pool anyway?"

[Aiden Darkstrife]

His eyes widened at the froze finger, "That is indeed interesting. But it's nothing weird about it. You saved me with you abilities and I can do that with my ability...I think." He took a big out of his burger and savored the flavor and it distracted him from the previous topic. "This burger is amazing." He pulled out a little book from his back pocket and a pen from his shirt and started to right, "Burger Dive, late night, burgers are great." He finished up and put it all away. "I make notes for jump points. I helps for times I don't want to cook at the dorm or go to the cafeteria."

Aiden reddened greatly in embarrassment, "...I got scared. I was running around trying to find someplace to go for something to eat and I apparently stopped in the road to catch my breath and nearly got hit by a semi-truck. I got scared and teleported to the pool. When I can't think of a place to teleport in an emergency I randomly think of a place and poof...I am there." He thought about it a bit more, "I don't know why I started in midair though." He shrugged it off and continued to eat his burger.

The ice enthusiast would shrug before taking a drink of water, replacing any that had been lost during the effort to remove Aiden from the pool area. "It's possible that you imagined the area just above the swimming pool instead of the concrete itself." he stated with a bit of mirth in his tone.

"I remember a few years back, when I first joined...we had someone in my ability control class that accidentally jumped straight into a wall...fortunately he wasn't splattered between the molecules like some kind of sci fi movie...just took the staff about an hour to clear enough space that he could breathe, and a few days before they could get him out." He'd shudder a bit. "I never saw him around after that...rumor goes that he got put in an asylum due to the stress breaking his mind."

With that pleasant thought, he began to take a bite out of his burger, glad that it wasn't the kind of fru fru food that people seemed to like nowadays. It was just good, filling food.

Aiden pointed vigorously at the man as if he had gotten the answer right, he was still chewing on his burger. He swallowed roughly, "That is a option. You may indeed have a point. Maybe the thought of being in the air at that point in time could have altered my ability." He thought about it a bit more.

"That boy became unstable?" he voiced to himself. "Truly Fascinating" He spoke a bit louder but still to himself.

Aiden began slowly chewing at his fries as he thought of the unknown child from years back.

Javel nodded as he took another bite, "Wouldn't you have done the same thing if you'd been trapped in such a small space for that long of a period of time?" he asked before swallowing what he'd eaten, reaching for a few fries.

"but the bright side is that he didn't die."

His eyes widened in slight shock, "Oh, of course. I would have done the same. But it is good that he survived." He finally smiled as he continued with is fries.

"Would you mind if I asked you why you were in the swimming pool so late at night?" Its been plaguing him for quite some time. You would think it would be more enjoyable with friends or other people around.

After popping another fry into his mouth, the young man sighed. "I do it because it's the one time of night that people don't make fun of my skin and eyes...and because since it's outside, I need to use a certain...um...lotion...to make sure my flesh doesn't burn." he'd state, now looking at the table with a dull look in his eyes.

"It's one of the few times I don't get mocked...so I've done it for years."

[Aiden Darkstrife]

Aiden stopped eating for a moment and grimaced, "Well that isn't very nice, now is it?" He cleared his through and decided to take a sip of his drink instead. "People shouldn't judge you by the way that you look. Judging is a horrible thing, period, but just because someone elses skin it lighter than another doesn't mean that have the right to do sure a thing."

He seemed really adamant about this. Aiden hated how people would put others down just to make themselves happy. He knew how it was to be messed with, he came from a rich family and a rich background, all of his previous classmates knew it and called him spoiled and other disrespectful things. He didn't see how it made them feel anymore superior to him.

He didn't care if he had money or not. Friends came an went depending on if he had money on him to help out his friends but after a while he came to realize that they wanted his money not his friendship so he secluded himself away from the so-called friends of his and come to find out, he did not have any friends at all.

He picked up his last fry and pointed it at the man, "You sir should have more confidence in yourself. Skin is but a color, its what it on the inside that counts the most, I think." He bit down on the fry to signify is passion on the topic and nearly bit the tip of his thumb.

The young male shrugged a bit before chuckling. "Well that is true, but that won't stop them...other than that, it at least keeps me from getting burned." he stated before finishing his burger. When it was just his shake and fries left, he'd start chowing down on them.

"so..how old are you anyway? usually can't get anyone younger than myself to talk to me, so I'm guessing you're.." he'd look Aiden over for a second before finishing his sentence, "sixteen."

[Aiden Darkstrife]

"Fourteen, actually." He laughed lightly to himself. "Tall for my age but I don't mind." He took a sip of his drink. "Is that a problem? I hope you don't mind me talking with you."

[Javel Arcen]

He'd shake his head "S'fine...usually I don't talk to many people, but then...not many people interrupt my swimming time by nearly cracking their skulls open in the pool." he teased before finishing his fries and looking at the clock on the wall. "That late already?" he chuckled

"Think they'll scold us for being out here this late?" he'd ask in a cool tone.

[Aiden Darkstrife]

He flushed brightly and smiled, "Yeah, I can be a rare case sometimes." Aiden looked at the wall clock and blew an tiring breath, "We should be getting back shortly." His belly was full and he had good company. He decided that it would be the best time to go back to the dorms.

"I'm sure they wont mind, I do have doctors information so they could easily call them up and verify the validity of the claim and we will be on our way." then he stopped and thought about the boy, "And I can say that you helped me to the hospital after the accident and you brought me back and dinner, of course."

He thought about it for a moment, "You know, I don't believe I have gotten your name yet. I'm Aiden, by the way." He stood with a minimal effort and put his hand out for a shake.

As he gently sipped his shake, he'd offer his own hand. taking the shake away from his mouth, he'd respond, "Javel" he'd state politely. After they finished shaking hands, he'd stand up. "Alright, Aiden..lead the way."

He quickly grasped Javels hand and closed his eyes thinking deeply about the dorms, remember the smell, the paint on the walls, the feel of the carpet. Once he had a complete image in his mind he teleported himself and Javel directly to the dorms just inside the entrance door.

Aiden peeked open one of his eyes, "Good, we made it. Good thing that worked." He smiled happily at Javel. "Are you feeling alright. Most people feel a bit disoriented when they see it coming." He laughed a bit to cover his nervousness.
