Samael cocked his head at the device but followed after the man, trailing lazily behind him. He was very much intrigued by the device and was excited to see how it worked, and, to his surprise, it was like a tiny tornado that just drank the leaves into nonexistence. He blinked in shock a few times before letting out a quiet hum. "That's really impressive. Not only the device itself, but also that you can stand to hold it while it functions. Pretty sure it would suck me in there, too." He leaned in, examining it more. "Where in the world did you get one of those?
He unstrapped it from his arm and let it drop to the ground with a solid thud. "Well, I just took the parts from a shop vac, repaired it, modified it for easy flow of the debris and attached a long ass hose to the back where it connects to a truck that I use for trash days." He would got into further explanation but it really wouldn't be necessary yet. He flexed his arm to get the blood flowing back through it.
He picked up the device with a minor grunt and carried it back behind the cabin where he has it stored. "Help me with the hose and they you are good for today." He pointed to the hose furthest away from him and started pulling from his end.

Samael nodded, then dipped down to help guide the hose back to its home. Huh. This really wasn't so bad after all. It would at least help him stay in shape, right? He smiled lightly again, glad to have gotten this opportunity. "Um, thank you, Mr. Ichabod. This was pretty fun." He gave a light throaty laugh, looking up at the other. "And you don't have to worry about me being late; I always get to places before I'm needed."
He could tell that the boy was really getting into the heavy workout that he was being put through, it was a painful job and he will feel it for a while but since he is enjoying himself maybe he can hack it.
Ichabod nodded at his workers mention of him and his promptness. They finally packed the hose away closing the door and locking it away. "Hey, kid." He walked up to him and put a hand on his shoulder. "This is just day one and once I hear something from Kinzoku he will tell me what to do from there. Remember what I said and..."
He scratched his head thinking long and hard about the next words that are going to come out, "Drinking is fun and that's fine, we've all done it while we were young but you need to at least try to be sober for school. You will have a better time in life knowing that." He let go of Sam's shoulder and walked into the shack turning off the coffee maker and taking a beer with him out of his stash. He close and locked the door behind him.

Today definitely felt like a job well done. He knew his muscles were going to be sore, but that was fine by him. It was definitely enjoyable so far, and Ichabod wasn't a bad person, either. In fact, he was sure they could become fast friends if they played their cards right.
At the small lecture, Samael couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed. "A-ah... right. No promises, though." He waited patiently to be dismissed, staying in place and watching as the other locked up. After he was told to go, he was about to turn and wave, but a familiar shining light caught his eye. A can of beer?
A wide grin spread over his lips before he gave another laugh. "Alright, alright. But we should hang out sometime, especially since we don't know how long I'll be doing this. Maybe when we're both free." With that, he waved a goodbye and trotted off with a spring in his step back towards the dorms.
He responded back to the boy as he was trailing off, "Be back here at 9pm on Monday. Ill have more for you." He raised his beer in salute and watched the boy walk out of site.

Samael had actually gotten a healthy amount of sleep today. He didn't doze off in class, and the comment about going to class sober had been in the back of his mind since Ichabod mentioned it, but to be honest, it didn't really make that much of a difference to him. It just meant that he had to rely on others less for information, actually reducing his time socializing for the day. He smiled to himself, though, shaking his head. At least he had tried, right?
Either way, he still ended up at the cemetery at 8:45 PM and stopped at its boundaries to glance around. When did Ichabod normally get here? Was he going to be alone for the next few minutes or was his captor just as punctual?
Ichabod was out running but not as a man but as his direwolf form, he always had a good run before work. It got him moving, it broke away the groggy feeling of sleep. By basic instinct he could tell it was about time for work, he rushed down from the Dragon Forest and blazed through the wooded areas of town and made it to the cemetery, jumping the walled area, with about 10 minutes to spare before 9pm. He didn't see the shadow looming around the corner.
He trotted over to the lone stone building and laid down in front of it as if to protect it from unwanted people.

Samael leaned against the wall after a few moments and looked up at the night sky, easily entranced by the stars. He loved being able to do this when there were no electronics to distract him... well, besides his cell phone, but he hardly ever used the thing. It was really only on him to keep in contact with his grandparents, and the poor couple struggled to call him, much less shoot him a text. He smirked at the thought. He really did miss them, but he knew that there was a reason he was at this school. It might be a while before he figured out why, though.
Not long into this thoughts, he was broken from them by the sound of heavy steps charging from a good distance away. Interested, he righted himself and turned towards the sound, trying to get a better look at the one approaching. He wasn't expecting to see such a large dog, though. Where did that come from? Not wanting to disturb it, he simply leaned back against the wall, dark eyes peeking over at the animal curiously.
He waited about 10 minutes before standing turning around and putting one loving pawn on what looked to be a sealed door. As he did he shifted from beast to human, his large pawn becoming a rough and scarred human hand. He grunted as he stood up from his now dirty knees and walked toward the small cabin unlocking it silently.
He poured the coffee from the machine back into the tank filling it up the rest of the way with water, he proceeded to make more. Why waste coffee that was still good, it will be hot again in a few minutes anyways. He waited patiently.

Samael's interest in the giant dog never dwindled. In fact, the longer he watched it, the more intrigued he was. Where did it come from? What was it doing here? Did it have family anywhere near? Samael swore that if a tail had ever sprouted from him, it would be wagging right now. But all of that cracked when the wolf moved and then suddenly started to shift. Wait, was this a--
Mr. Ichabod?
Samael swallowed. He hadn't thought of the other being anything other than human. Well, for him, he supposed everyone was human until they told him otherwise because he was just raised to never believe in fairy tales, but ever since he came here, that lack of belief had completely shattered. He should have expected more from the gravekeeper.
Carefully, he finally walked in and to the cabin door to knock on it lightly. "Mr. Ichabod?" he asked, not even attempting to call out. If he was a wolf shifter or werewolf, then there would be no need to raise his voice, right?
He could smell the boy as he walked up and knocked on the door so he wasn't shocked by his announcement but when Ichabod turned and stared at his worker but he could see the stoic look across his face, "Whats the matter, kid? Looks like you saw a ghost, you alright?" His eyes were wider than normal like he hadn't slept well or he'd joke go kick in the crotch.
He drew closer and snapped his long fingers in front of his face, "You can't be that cold, whats goin' on you with tonight?" He let out a silent snicker and turned back to his coffee which was about done, he could almost feel the warmth of the hot brew.

Samael didn't flinch at the snapping, but his brows furrowed in concern. Not for the other, but really for himself. Should he say anything? He wasn't sure if it would be polite or not. And how to phrase it...
He cleared his throat some. "W-well... I'm not sure if I was supposed to see it or not, but I suppose I should at least tell you. I saw your shifting." He paused for a moment. "May I ask what you are, sir?" His curiosity got the better of him and tacked on the last question, but if he never asked, then there was even less of a guarantee of an answer.
Ichabod was somewhat worried as the boy became speaking but what he said shocked him a lot less than the boy was expecting, "Yes, well it was bound to happen eventually." He spun back to the kid to looking him the eye, "Very few people know of my abilities, I hope you understand what I mean." He said eying him to make sure his point got across.
He thought how his question for a moment and sighed silently, "Well, I have been called many things over the years, beast, dog, wolf, el chupacabra, and other different names." He ticked them off on his fingers as he went. "People of our ilk would classify themselves as shifter. We have anamorphic abilities and can shift to an animal they choose to be. Very few come out into the human lifestyle." He nodded to make sure that he had covered the important bits.

Samael's eyes widened a little as he listened, becoming enamored with the difference already. After a moment, he gave a small laugh. "It's wonderful to know that you're not human. I always feel a bit odd feeling that everyone is human." He sighed gently and smiled. "I definitely won't let anyone else know, and I'd love to hear about any stories you wouldn't mind sharing."
His smile was bright enough to light up the graveyard itself, even if it wasn't exaggerated. He was genuinely happy to discover this, even if it wasn't someone he knew. "Ah, now that I'm thinking about it, though, did Mr. Kinzoku say anything?"
Aurelian Kinzoku: Yes I would rather not want to buy more computers because of one little slip up..
Nov 29, 2014 17:51:30 GMT -8
Aiden Darkstrife: What about a screw cap or a water bottle?
Nov 30, 2014 20:58:47 GMT -8
Deleted: Some sealable containers are trustworthy.
Nov 30, 2014 21:14:03 GMT -8
Deleted: Hmmm... No hot cocoa near the computers? Sounds like a rule to break.
Dec 3, 2014 20:42:43 GMT -8
Lenny Robertson: I will tell you now, please do not ruin the computers or else you will be paying for a whole new one. We could make you help the janitorial staff for a while until we see the debt is paid. But that is totally up to you.

Deleted: Sorry Mr. R, but you know me
Dec 4, 2014 16:25:49 GMT -8
Silver Kinzoku: And we all know that Principla Kinzoku would be more than happy to put you on janitorial service to work off paying for a computer broken. Or torturing you during detention for breaking said rule.
Dec 9, 2014 20:04:39 GMT -8
Ichabod: I have told Aurelian that if any of his students gets out of hand to send them my way. I have a large graveyard to take care of and only two hands to do it.
Dec 9, 2014 20:33:52 GMT -8
Canary La Muerte: it's too dang cold to be doing volunteer work for the city. I think i'll just wake up a little earlier and enjoy cocoa in the cafeteria.
Dec 11, 2014 17:18:59 GMT -8
Ichabod: But we have coffee and cocoa at the work cabin. It will be fun.
Dec 11, 2014 20:27:38 GMT -8
Kveldulf Argenlet: If graveyard work is insufficient, the park ranger of the Kumorai Forest informed me he needs volunteers to help remove invasive plants and dig fire ditches.
Dec 12, 2014 11:00:31 GMT -8
Lien Braska: He gave me towel duty once... i think the students get the idea. No monkey business.
Dec 14, 2014 11:25:43 GMT -8
Kveldulf Argenlet: There is an overwhelming amount of towels from the PE department that need washing, and frankly I'm rather tired of cleaning after your messes.
Dec 14, 2014 13:16:32 GMT -8
Ichabod: Isn't that part of the job description?
Dec 14, 2014 21:07:20 GMT -8
Silver Kinzoku: doesn't matter if it is... it can easily be pushed off onto a detention student. *smirk*
Dec 15, 2014 12:38:08 GMT -8
Zariah Marie Weaver: Ew... I wouldn't get caught dead washing those disgusting towels.
Dec 17, 2014 20:32:45 GMT -8
Renee Nakamura: Oh, do not worry. The nurses office has plenty of gloves and sanitary gels for the clean up. -Snickers-
Dec 19, 2014 20:11:38 GMT -8
Zariah Marie Weaver: I'm good. I'd rather just be smart and not get into trouble
Dec 28, 2014 16:58:38 GMT -8
Silver Kinzoku: Good to hear! Then things will run smooth.
