She smiled a bit more at that as she finished off another piece and then reached into the ice chest to pull out a bottle of ginger ale. She cracked it open and took a sip before putting her plate to the side. She had eaten her fill and was content now to just relax and talk a bit before she headed into the cold ocean waters. "Your manners are quite good. It really amazes me what some Americans do to their sushi. The put a bowl of soy sauce and wasabi and ginger and then drink it before eating it in small bites. But their steaks they cut pieces just as large as sushi and still manage to eat it." she sighed and shook her head a bit, the disgust and amazement of American eating always overwhelmed her a bit. The only thing worse than their sushi habits... was the way they cleaned their teeth at the table... picking at them with tooth picks so openly.
She shuddered and pushed the thought to the side. "You know I hear sometimes Mr. Kinzoku takes the teachers traveling with him. Last year he went to... India. He goes to find people like us... especially young children. If he ever goes to Japan you would be a welcome helper I am sure. You have manners, and you know technology. Japan is a mecha to the latest gadgets." She sipped lightly on her ginger ale, relaxing now that she was well fed.

Lenny had no idea of this news she just said, who would have guessed a busy man like Aurelian would have the time and energy to do a noble thing such as that. "That would be a good idea, I never would have thought that he would go outwards and recruit." he thought on it more, "I suppose he would have to do that so he would have school to run." He laughed it off making sure to take a mental note of the knowledge.
A cold shiver ran down his spine at the thought of going to Japan, if he could just get one finger on the technology there he might just pass out from the experience. The largest smile crept across the mans face at the thought of just going overseas again. "I would be a joyous occasion, wouldn't it?"

Her head gave a shake and her dark hair shook along with it as she gazed at the teacher. "Oh the reasons is much different actually than just running the school. Two of my best friends were rescued by him you see. Sometimes we with gifts are not understood, like Canary his adopted daughter. She was a street child rejected by the world because of her power. And then there is... Lien. She doesn't exactly say where she was or... what she was doing but I can see by the pain in her eyes it was a very dark place. Aurelian got them to this school so they could make a better life for themselves. My mother found this place through an online website." she explained and brought her knees to her chest to hug them gently to herself as she gazed at him and explained.
"He takes the teachers that he feel connect best to students and best to troubled souls. Those are the children he goes in search of. That's also why Kumorai is.. the best and yet.. sometimes the most dangerous. Canary was a jynx... her power took peoples luck and sometimes.. led to death. Could you imagine living with that? She was private tutored at his home for a while by the ability control teacher till she felt safe enough to attend school with the other students and teachers. Many of the students here are grateful to have this place, but powers get out of hand quite often."

He didn't day a word as the young her was schooling him on they way things go around here. He had a basic understanding of how things worked but the way the students came to the school was different compared to what he actually thought happened.
"And here I thought the school acted similar like normal schools but I guess not." He said tapping his right index finger to his chin. Maybe with access to the main computer at the High School he could get a better grasp of the students around here and some background information on those who might need some help.
"Well, I may not be as determined as our workaholic Principal but I will do my best to make sure you and the other students under our umbrella have the best schooling we can give you." He said with a fist propped in his other hand as if he had pounded something on the surface of his palm. He was firm in his words but also had a smile on his face.

Ayumi couldn't help but laugh ever so softly as she nodded to him. "Hai... Kumorai is amazingly different. Every day it seems I learn new things about the school or about the students or teachers. Principal Kinzoku does work far too much but hopefully with great staff like you he can rest easier." she sighed happily and then turned her head to look out over the waters a bit, watching them wash up the shore and then retreat back within itself.
Her head turned back to him and smiled. "I think my food has settled enough to go into the water now for a bit. You are welcome to join me if you would like, or you can continue to eat the food I brought since there is plenty." she lifted the bottle of ginger ale and took a drink of it before closing it tightly and placed it back into the ice cooler. She then rose to her feet, moving to make sure he wasn't down wind of her as she dusted off a bit of the sand that was sticking to her leg. She was a short thing, but then she was also still very young.

He watched as the girl stood and dusted herself off, "No, you go on ahead. I came for the environment and the atmosphere." He let out a light laugh and smiled, "I have never been good around water anyways."
Which was a true statement, he enjoyed the the company of the people and loved to people watch whenever he was alone. The water on the other hand was different, he knew how to swim from back in school and his time overseas but that was something he had to do to survive but ever since coming back to the states, going back in to the water was something that never really occurred to him.
It could be the wetness or it could be the fact that fish and other things are swimming around with him, infections never really worried him much. If he was to die, he would rather have died doing something he loved and swimming wasn't one of them. "I am perfectly content with watching, you go have fun." He smiled playfully.

She stood there a moment, hesitant since she figured the entire point of the beach was the wonderful waters. But she supposed it wasn't for everyone. With a bright smile she gave a nod to him. "Alright then. You have fun too." she laughed and turned to head over to her little set up area and carefully tucked away her phone before heading down to the waters.
She let the waves race up to wash over her feet and she shivered but a big smile played on her face as she continued to walk out into the chilly waters. She went in only to the level of her waist before she started to play in the waves, giggling as she would jump over them. It wasn't quite as fun as when she had her friends with her but still it was nice to relax and enjoy the waters.

Lenny waved as he watched the girl run off into the water to have herself some fun. He popped his headphones back into his ears and turned his music back on. The sun was beginning to slowly creep along his back and over his head making the top lay of his skin grow tighter. He pulled the white hood over his head for protection from the suns rays but also keeping an eye out for people on the beach.
As he was looking he would see families off all kinds running atop the sand and rushing into the water letting the receding waves slap there legs. He would have to make sure he kept an eye on Ayumi, he was sure she could handle herself but there was still the protective teacher inside of him that wanted to have eyes over everything.

She played in the waters till it started to get too cold, so with her teeth chattering and her lips starting to get blue she moved out of the waters and headed over to her little encampment. She wrapped the large towel around herself to start getting warm and dry. She used a bit of the excess towel to start drying off her hair, rubbing it good and hard to get the water out despite making tangles. Once she was much drier she pulled her clothes on and stretched, it felt good to be warm again. She toweled her hair off to be sure before shoving it into a bun with a hair clip keeping it in place and then turned.
She walked back to the teacher and smiled at him brightly. "The water started to get cold." she laughed softly as she moved to the ice chest and grabbed her drink to drink some before opening a container to continue on the food. Playing in the water had worked up her appetite again and she figured she might as well eat it now while it was still good and fresh. Nothing was worse than non-fresh fish.
Aurelian Kinzoku: Yes I would rather not want to buy more computers because of one little slip up..

Aiden Darkstrife: What about a screw cap or a water bottle?

Deleted: Some sealable containers are trustworthy.

Deleted: Hmmm... No hot cocoa near the computers? Sounds like a rule to break.
Dec 3, 2014 20:42:43 GMT -8
Lenny Robertson: I will tell you now, please do not ruin the computers or else you will be paying for a whole new one. We could make you help the janitorial staff for a while until we see the debt is paid. But that is totally up to you.
Dec 4, 2014 16:19:25 GMT -8
Deleted: Sorry Mr. R, but you know me
Dec 4, 2014 16:25:49 GMT -8
Silver Kinzoku: And we all know that Principla Kinzoku would be more than happy to put you on janitorial service to work off paying for a computer broken. Or torturing you during detention for breaking said rule.

Ichabod: I have told Aurelian that if any of his students gets out of hand to send them my way. I have a large graveyard to take care of and only two hands to do it.
Dec 9, 2014 20:33:52 GMT -8
Canary La Muerte: it's too dang cold to be doing volunteer work for the city. I think i'll just wake up a little earlier and enjoy cocoa in the cafeteria.
Dec 11, 2014 17:18:59 GMT -8
Ichabod: But we have coffee and cocoa at the work cabin. It will be fun.
Dec 11, 2014 20:27:38 GMT -8
Kveldulf Argenlet: If graveyard work is insufficient, the park ranger of the Kumorai Forest informed me he needs volunteers to help remove invasive plants and dig fire ditches.
Dec 12, 2014 11:00:31 GMT -8
Lien Braska: He gave me towel duty once... i think the students get the idea. No monkey business.
Dec 14, 2014 11:25:43 GMT -8
Kveldulf Argenlet: There is an overwhelming amount of towels from the PE department that need washing, and frankly I'm rather tired of cleaning after your messes.
Dec 14, 2014 13:16:32 GMT -8
Ichabod: Isn't that part of the job description?
Dec 14, 2014 21:07:20 GMT -8
Silver Kinzoku: doesn't matter if it is... it can easily be pushed off onto a detention student. *smirk*
Dec 15, 2014 12:38:08 GMT -8
Zariah Marie Weaver: Ew... I wouldn't get caught dead washing those disgusting towels.
Dec 17, 2014 20:32:45 GMT -8
Renee Nakamura: Oh, do not worry. The nurses office has plenty of gloves and sanitary gels for the clean up. -Snickers-
Dec 19, 2014 20:11:38 GMT -8
Zariah Marie Weaver: I'm good. I'd rather just be smart and not get into trouble
Dec 28, 2014 16:58:38 GMT -8
Silver Kinzoku: Good to hear! Then things will run smooth.
